SHELL & TUBE H/EX (SHELL & TUBE Heat Exchanger)

The principle of a SHELL & TUBE H/EX is that as the liquid temperature inside the shell is different from the liquid temperature in the tube, heat is transferred from the high-temperature liquid to the low-temperature liquid, and heat exchange occurs between them. It is possible to classify the heat exchanges largely into 4 types.

4 Types of Heat Exchangers

  • FLOATING HEAD TYPE (Heat Exchanger)

    • - This product has wide applicability even for the liquids that may cause cleanable contaminations inside the heat transfer tube.
    • - It is applicable even when the heat transfer tube or main body, respectively, has a temperature difference big enough to cause contraction or expansion.
  • FIXED TUBE SHEET TYPE (Heat Exchanger)

    • - This type of heat exchanger has such a structure that tube sheets are fixed to both sides of the main body by welding or other methods
    • - It is the optimal structure when the contamination of the main body, the temperature difference due to liquid between the main body and heat transfer tube, or the thermal expansion difference is small.
    • - It has wide applicability as a longitudinal tube reactor.
  • U-TUBE TYPE (Heat Exchanger)

    • - This type is free from thermal expansion.
    • - As it is possible to extract the BUNDLE from inside the SHELL, cleaning inside the SHELL is easy.
    • - It is suitable for high-pressure liquid. If a high-pressure liquid is dropped inside the SHELL, the internal pressure may be small. Hence, the weight can be reduced.
    • - Due to the simple structure, tube sheets or the body side flanges can be small, so manufacturing is easy.
  • KETTLE TYPE (열교환기)

    • - As a waste heat boiler, this product has the simplest structure.
    • - It is widely used for easily gaining cheap steam.
    • - As the SHELL and BUNDLE are separable, it is possible to remove foreign materials from the SHELL INSIDE and clean the BUNDLE.
